18/52 Art Journal Project - April 21st | Topic 18 - "Pattern"

April 21st | Topic 18

This topic is so simple but I have found this page spread to be the most satisfying. I think it's because I have never done patterning before. I've seen a lot of lovely Instagram photos filled with pattern and I just wanted to try it.

I opened up my sketchbook to pick out a topic and the moment I looked at the word pattern I was like "YEAP, that's the one"

OH GOODNESS, who out there is mad tired! I had a festival to prepare for all of last week, my birthday weekend was perfectly enjoyable and now I feel like a wet noodle, so tired and worn out.

But it's a good kind of tired because I sold a painting over the festival and I ate a ton of peppermint patties from my birthday, which might be the reason the why I feel tired, CHOCOLATE OVERDOSE!

Ahhhhh but over all I feel great. I hope everyone else is doing okay and whatever ails you or worries you I will pray for you in hopes that you feel better!

So try something simple this week and take it easy. Treat yourself to something. (p.s. don't eat a whole bag of pappermint patties in three day unless you desire feeling like an elephant and a walrus combined...hahaha)

I can't wait to see all the patterns that will pop up on our FB feed. Everyone is doing wonderful and I'm enjoying all the beautiful artwork I see everyday! Im so proud of everyone! WHAOOOO!

May God Bless You and May You Bless God!

18/52 Art Journal Project - April 21st | Topic 17 - "Deer"

Well, you know this was coming at some point.

April 21st | Topic 17
" Deer"

This one was so relaxing to create. I had a lot of ideas as to how this spread was going to look and it worked just perfectly!

I love my deer of course but my hand carved flower stamp really just sewed this baby together exactly how I like it.

So I've been busy here of late getting ready for a festival that will swamp RMCA with 10s of thousands of people. We are cleaning, organizing, preparing and getting really excited for the exposure we'll be getting. So that's why videos and step by step photos haven't been available for our 18/52 Art Journal Project. I'll be able to get back in the swing of things soon.

For those of you who haven't been following me, I have a deep love and admiration for deer. I see them all the time where I live and marvel at how majestic and mysterious they are. I sometimes see the personality of a deer in me. Not so much majestic and mysterious but I am quiet, reserved and can adapt to my surroundings quite easily.

I also just really enjoy incorporating them in my art for the whimsical feeling they bring. And hey, they are just so cute

Alright everyone, enjoy the rest of your week! I hope that you have been flooded with inspiration week. If a deer isn't your style, maybe think of an animal that speaks to you and figure out why they pull at your heart strings. After all God gave us animals for company as well! May God Bless You and May You Bless God!

18/52 Art Journal Project - April 14th | Topic 16 - "Desert"

Hey Guys!
Hope you are doing well and if not I send up my prayers to you for God to shower you with blessings today!

So today you might want to swerve off the path a little to do your own thing due to the fact that this topic probably won't be for a lot of people.

  April 14th | Topic 16
" Desert"
I am obsessed with the desert! For those of you that have been following me for a while know that I've been out west several times and have marveled at the grand nothingness of a desert!
My weirdest dream one day is to just ride a horse full on gallop in nothing but wide open desert! Yeah I know weird but I can't wait to do that one day!
I also was inspired by an Instagram feed HERE.
You can probably find the image that I used as reference in her feed if you look long enough. I kinda designed my 18 or 19 supplies around the color palette in this lady's beautiful Instagram feed.

So here are the few easy steps that it took to create topic 16 this week.

I kinda like how those little strips of under paper pop out on the landscape down at the bottom right hand corner. Oh how I love this mini little painting. It was the easiest thing I have ever had to paint. I think the simplicity works for how...well, simplistic the desert is. I like that, a lot!

Well I hope that you have gained some inspiration from this. Take it super simple this week and enjoy the process.

Alrighty, gotta get back to the studio! My paintings are coming along so well I truly don't think I have ever been this excited about a group of paintings before in my life! WHAOOOOO!

May God Bless You and May You Bless God!

18/52 Art Journal Project - April 7th | Topic 15 - "Foliage"

"The Peace and Fulfillment of Jesus
is literally so good that your bank
account can be empty, you body be
sick and your heart be broken, but it
can always be well with your soul."

~ Carl Lentz

Yeah, just let that quote sink in, read it over again and again and let it become real to you. I have this week and it inspired this page for this weeks topic 15.

  April 7th | Topic 15
" Foliage"

Christ has truly showered blessing on me this week that I don't deserve and he can for you too if only you truly KNOW him and obey him! I can't say that I have obeyed him completely but I have tried to keep my eyes on him even in times are troubles.

I really can not explain how much I desperately want to share Jesus Christ with you right now! I just pray to the very depths of my soul that you come to him and honor him in all his glory and majesty! Because like in the quote above, even in the worst of times, having Christ peace and fulfillment can truly with stand ANY STORM!

Okay I could go on and on about Jesus for the rest of my life but with this page I used 19 (I know...tisk tisk) supplies that I really like. I used them in their most basic form this time but next week I really want to broaden their abilities.

I put that quote at the bottom because as I do not have much right now and I am still having to wait for a lot of things, but with Christ everything is well with my soul.

I pray that the rest of this week you can feel that wellness in your soul! Come to Christ and even though it's a hard and narrow road to walk on in the harsh world, imagine Christ saying:

"Well done my good and faithful servant"

Uuuuhhhh I can't wait!

May God Bless You and May You Bless God!

New Painting Series | New and Final Direction

It was pretty much just last week that I decided to make a big change and suddenly I'm feeling extremely better for it.

What is this sorcery you speak of Miranda? Okay nothing, in all fairness, is going away I'm just taking some artsy things off my plate because...I NEED to paint!

Ever since I left college, I knew how to paint but I knew just painting wasn't going to get me anywhere. So I did EVERYTHING I possibly could artistically and now I am tapped dry to the bone.

I believe I went about this all the wrong way. I have learned a lot but I have got to be more professional about my content for your guys!

So my main focus for a good while now is going to be paintings! Paintings here, paintings there, paintings EVERYWHERE!

I'm excited and I have a goal in mind that I really can't sit still about, it pulls at my heart strings and when that happens, I know it's right.

So here is a quick video filled with sneak peak, close up photos of my new Paintings Series coming out soon.

So what's changing, well really I think the appropriate question is, what is being added?

Well, we gonna find out!

First of all I have a new Facebook Page called
Miranda Banks - Clare Plantation
This will be where I post all of my paintings, links to painting videos and blog posts. Everything is really going to be about my paintings now.

My You Tube Videos will still be posted every Monday all about, can you guess, my paintings. I'll still be art journaling and sharing techniques but they will all be pointing to a new painting series that I want to try and have out every two months. So you will be seeing a batch of new paintings out EVERY two months. Whew am I excited!

I will be having a mini stamp collection come out at the end of this month but after that I'm going to have to put a hold on stamp making for a while. They will always be on sale but for now, I need to focus on my paintings.

The 18/52 Art Journal Project is still going on strong. We are in our first switch of 18 supplies and I have learned a lot already in this project. All of which can be put towards the growth of my paintings.

So see EVERYTHING is centered around the production of Clare Plantation Paintings. I have a focus, a drive and a new dream that I never really knew that I wanted until now!

So I want you to have a say in this new change. HERE I have my new Facebook page started and ready to go. There you will find one post that has a survey in it. I would LOVE for you to take a peak and give me some feedback on what kind of styles you want to see more of in my paintings. You all are very important to me and I want to hear what you have so say!

So there it is, raw and still fresh and new but with your help, lets make Clare Plantation better than ever before!

Looking forward to sharing my passions with you in paint!

May God Bless You and may you Bless God!
