Monthly Challenge Journal Pages

I have joined a social network called Journal Workshops by Jennibellie. I have been watching her videos ever sine I first started art journaling and she also gave me the ideas and inspiration to make my own YouTube channel. I have participated in practically everything that she has offered to us and supported in all that I can. Now I have created a journal for monthly challenges that she posts each month. I absolutely adore this idea because for one, it helps me work on a page a long period of time. It gives me just enough time to mull it over and get some ideas before I even begin thinking about putting a drop of paint on my page. It also allows me to take time on my page because I really want this particular journal to grow into a piece of artwork. I want to look back on this journal and see how I have grown as an artist and what I have learned and experienced.

So for this months challenge, it is entitled "Getting To Know You."
I put my passions, my hearts desires and things that symbolize who I am. I put a ton of me on this page right down to the way I like to spread gesso when I first start my page. See if there is anything you can figure out about me on this page. The challenge asks to collage, paint or draw as much as you can without using a lot of words. I am curious if you can figure me out by just looking at this page. Leave a comment below of your ideas.

The last challenge of last month was "Monochromatic"

This page was done rather quickly though. I did this page before I decided to really take my time in this journal and treat it like a full piece of artwork, but I still took my time on it none the less. I had just gotten a lot of new materials from birthday spending, as well as this fully stocked decorated paper journal, and I really wanted to test it all out in the journal. I realized how much I fancied gold paint and metallic qualities of it. I especially like how it looks next to turquoise blue. But since this page was monochromatic, I enjoyed just playing around and giving a bird with a polka dotted chest and a gold beak the center stage.

I hope you have enjoyed these pages and believe me there will be more to come. I'll have a main button posted on the right side of my blog underneath my Documented Life Project button so you can always keep in touch with the status of my Monthly Challenge Journal. Also keep a look out for videos on my YouTube Channel about my process in my MCJ. Other than that, I will see you all soon!

Documented Life Project Week 17-19

Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening to my Plantation.
Today I have a few more pages to share with you and one is rather old but new.

First off I ended my last post of the Documented Life Project with Week 17...well I never did show you the challenge for that week, so if you haven't guessed it already I am going to show you!

Week 17 challenge:
Photograph or draw your favorite shoe. If you watched my video you will know that I have more that ONE!
So I drew the tips of my shoes, which are the selling point for me in that they MUST make my feet look long and slender, and I painted them in with acrylic!

Next is Week 18
This weeks challenge was to write a quote that will inspire you through the week.
I choose a quote that my Dad said in his sermon earlier that week.

"Do you know why he died for us...because of LOVE, (he spoke quite passionately and affirmatively), he could HELP himself!"

Finally the last week I have was Week 19
The challenge was to document a random act of kindness you had done for someone.
To me I didn't want to focus on what I had done so I focused on the Lord kindness! Because of his good grace, mercy and kindness, we should be kind also because he was kind in dying for us. We should be unable to stop being kind to one another!

And most importantly we can not forget about the cover. It took me a little bit to figure out what I wanted it to look like so this is what it turned out to be. SUPER PROUD OF IT!

And it's just hardly beginning! I just love where this project is taking me! Hope you Enjoy!
